Trainee Quality Engineer – Building Products Division

You will be trained by the Company as a Quality Engineer.

Under the Supervision of the Quality Engineer you will receive the appropriate on-the-job training and support to enable you to gain the necessary knowledge and skills.  This training will be combined with external study.

Job Summary/Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing operating procedures (internal audit techniques)
  • Ensuring that the business needs comply with different regulations and standards
  • Informing employees about yield performance & NCR occurrences (Processing data from engineering)
  • Communicating targets for yield improvements (Time allocated to engineering data information)
  • Attending investigation & review meetings
  • Handling customer QA issues (Assisting CA QM)
  • Making recommendations to the QA system (VIA QM)
  • Assist in raising quality awareness throughout the shop-floor/office

Knowledge & Skills

  • Achieved a minimum of 3 A-Levels and possess a high standard of IT skills
  • Self-motivated decision maker
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with clients and external bodies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload as required

Draughtsman – Contracting Division

Job Summary

Working within our Roofing Services Division (CARS), this is a rewarding position for an experienced Roofing and Cladding Draughtsperson.  The role involves responsibility for completing projects from design stage through to construction with projects ranging from several months to in excess of a year, often for prestigious clients.  Previous projects include the Argos Distribution Centre in Darlington and the Marks and Spencer European Distribution Centre at Castle Donington.

CARS is an established division of CA Group specialising in building envelope systems with a focus on twin skin cladding design and installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work on building envelope detailing drawings and material scheduling for commercial cladding, roofing and twin skin wall applications
  • To work in close partnership with architects and contractors
  • Design co-ordination
  • Production of layouts

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proven AutoCAD Draughtsperson
  • Previous experience of Revit and Solidworks would be an advantage
  • Roofing / Cladding / Rainscreen focus in current role
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • A responsible pro-active approach
