Twin-Therm^®: Roof and Wall Cladding System

Twin-Therm^® is a site assembled roof and wall cladding system that provides a Non-Fragile assembly, guaranteed U-values complying with current and proposed Building Regulations and up to a 40 year full system guarantee.

The system offers developers, specifiers and architects a cost effective reliable cladding solution, while allowing the building designer the freedom to choose from a number of trapezoidal, arc and sinusoidal wall profiles, ensuring Twin-Therm^® caters for every architectural need.

The system’s design and installation method allows for the insulation to be installed continuously, prior to fixing of the spacer system, minimising thermal bridging. The Therma-bar is then installed on top of the insulation eliminating the need to cut and tuck. The sealed liner panel acts as the vapour control layer, so there is no need to install a separate vapour control layer or breather membrane unless a Class 5 humidity construction is required.

The system can be specified and supplied in conjunction with our ‘sequential sheeting’ packing system, which provides the liner panels and external profiled sheets packed in the order in which they will be installed onto the roof, reducing build times considerably.

The system is available in Corus Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra^® and Prisma^®.

What is FireTight?

Many wall cladding systems sold in the UK claim that they can protect a building from fire and keep the building safe. Where this may be true to an extent, the majority of buildings are far from safe from fire.

Twin-Therm^® is non combustible. The Twin-Therm^® built up roof and wall system is comprised from non combustible materials. This means that a standard Twin-Therm^® wall give 60 minutes integrity achieving LPCB EXT-B. This has been tested and confirmed by Warrington Fire as a part of CA Group's continuous efforts to ensure our products are independently verified.

Not only is standard Twin-Therm^® FireTight, but all of our Twin-Therm^® based roof and wall build ups are, including, SolarWall^® and River-Therm^®

For extra protection for your building, CA also offer dedicated FireWalls, the FW15 and FW30, which provide both provide an astonishing 240 minutes integrity & 15 minutes insulation (LPCB EXT-A15) / 30 minutes insulation (LPCB EXT-A30) respectively. for more information, click here...

Twin-Therm^® and EliosSolar PV

The adaptability of the EliosSolar PV means that it can be installed on our industry leading Twin-Therm^® cladding system. Using a metal extrusion that is secured on to the profile, the EliosSolar PV panels are clicked in to place and connected up in the usual manner.

With both Twin-Therm^® and River- Therm^® systems the EliosSolar PV can be retrofitted to an existing building, helping you meet new and upcoming government legislation such as building regulations Part L.

Using EliosSolar PV in conjunction with the Twin-Therm^® roof system provides our clients with the ability to turn their roofs into mini power stations which will not only reduce the buildings energy costs but could even see them generating a profit. EliosSolar PV is designed to be installed at any stage of the building’s life meaning it’s the ideal solution for both the new build and retro-fit market.

Guarantees, You Can Count On

Twin-Therm^® Guarantees

Unlike most suppliers of twin skin cladding, CA offer full system guarantees for up to 40 years. The Complete Assurance guarantees cover the manufacture and design of the whole system including all components within the system, supplied by CA, such as, screws, sealants, insulation, spacers, etc. There are three Twin-Therm^® guarantees available from CA Building Products.

Twin-Therm^® 40

Twin-Therm^® 40 consists of the normal Twin-Therm^® 25 build up; however the external sealants are of a higher grade, which contribute towards the 40 year system life. The only other variations are the internal and external rooflights which are of a different composition and thickness. This is a more expensive rooflight assembly than the Twin-Therm^® 25 year option. This delivery complements the Corus Confidex^® Guarantee 40 year system and maintenance free coating introduced in 2008 and allows the client/specifier to have comfort that the entire roof or wall is covered for up to 40 years depending upon colour and building location.

Twin-Therm^® 25

Twin-Therm^® 25 roof and wall cladding system comprises a standard construction in terms of durability and Non-Fragility for a 25 year period, including stainless steel fasteners and incorporating standard rooflights. This system has been widely adopted throughout the specification market for many years culminating in almost 1,000,000m² being installed year on year. This delivery is offered alongside the Corus Confidex^® Guarantee for Colorcoat HPS200^® Ultra and Colorcoat Prisma^®.

Twin-Therm^® 12

When 25 year guarantees are not required, we offer the Twin-Therm^® roof and wall cladding system with a 12 year Complete Assurance guarantee. It is effectively the same as is offered with Twin-Therm^® 25, but with carbon steel fasteners in place of stainless steel (with exception to rooflights). Again, the Corus Confidex^® Guarantee for Colorcoat HPS200^® Ultra and Colorcoat Prisma^® still applies.

Honest Environmental Credentials

All materials within the Twin-Therm^® system are fully recyclable to enable low ‘cradle to cradle’ carbon footprint, with a net commercial benefit on scrap values at end of life. The Therma-quilt non-combustible insulation is supplied with zero Global Warming Potential and zero Ozone Depletion Potential. The system has a minimal environmental impact of material delivery; this is due to its flexibility which enables it to cover a high service area when being transported to site.

The Twin-Therm^® system is now available with the Corus Confidex Sustain^® Guarantee, ensuring all of the unavoidable carbon emissions created throughout the entire life of the Twin-Therm^® cladding system, cradle to cradle, is offset by investing in environmental projects worldwide.

The sustainable credentials of Colorcoat Prisma^® and Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra^® are further extended through Corus Confidex Sustain^® which, in addition to guaranteeing the appearance of the pre-finished steel for up to 25 years, maintenance free with no inspections required, also provides a cradle to cradle carbon neutral cladding system.
