Twin-Therm®FW

CA Building Products over the last fifteen years has developed roof and wall cladding systems to comply with the onerous demands of building regulations in terms of thermal performance, air leakage, acoustics, etc., however, we feel the most critical demand under building regulations is Approved Document B: Fire safety – Volume 2 Buildings Other Than Dwellings.

At CA we have conducted extensive testing and development in order to achieve the best possible fire performance for metal clad buildings. We design all our systems with fire performance as one of the most fundamental factors, by adopting non-combustible materials, such as our Therma-quilt insulant, which has been tested by Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) to BS 476: Part 4: 1970, and achieved a ‘non-combustible’ classification.

In March 2002, CA were the first twin skin manufacturer to gain LPCB approval to the widely known and widely understood wall and ceiling test LPS 1181, achieving Grade EXT-B for the standard built up Twin-Therm® roof and wall cladding systems and Grade EXT-A15 and EXT-A30 for the Twin-Therm® FireWall systems.

CA has a proud tradition of innovation, which has seen several FireWall systems either tested or assessed by the UK’s leading authority; Warrington Fire.

Warrington Fire has tested a number of FireWall systems from CA Building Products which have achieved the following performances;

60 minutes integrity only (LPCB EXT-B)

240 minutes integrity & 15 minutes insulation (LPCB EXT-A15)

240 minutes integrity & 30 minutes insulation (LPCB EXT-A30)

LPCB Tested

Not only is standard Twin-Therm® FireTight, but all of our Twin-Therm® based roof and wall build ups are, including, SolarWall® and River-Therm®

Beyond the FireTight systems from CA Group, the insulation we use in the systems is tested in it's own right as non-combustible and does not contribute to the fire load.

What Is FireTight?

Many wall cladding systems sold in the UK claim that they can protect a building from fire and keep the building safe. Where this may be true to an extent, the majority of buildings are far from safe from fire.

Twin-Therm® is non combustible. The Twin-Therm® built up roof and wall system is comprised from non-combustible materials. This means that a standard Twin-Therm® wall give 60 minutes integrity achieving LPCB EXT-B. This has been tested and confirmed by Warrington Fire as a part of CA Group's continuous efforts to ensure our products are independently verified.

Not only is standard Twin-Therm® FireTight, but all of our Twin-Therm® based roof and wall build ups are, including PlanoWall, SolarWall® and River-Therm®

The Twin-Therm®FW system blends seamlessly with standard Twin-Therm® system, avoiding issues with aesthetics.
