EliosSolar PV is a thin film laminate amorphous silicon photovoltaic panel that allows solar energy to be converted into usable electricity, providing a renewable solution while reducing the energy costs associated with the building.
The unique design of EliosSolar PV allows the panel to be bonded and mechanically seamed to its own metal tray and then clipped into the roof systems external profile; this is a major advantage of the EliosSolar PV system, unlike most other PV installations which are either bonded directly to the building’s roof or assembled onto a separate grid and then mechanically fastened to the surface of the roof.
Any penetrations pertaining to a PV panel installation bring with them a high risk of water ingress into the building throughout it's usable life. With EliosSolar PV, this risk is eliminated.
Problems arise when PV panels that have been bonded to the building’s roof surface breakdown. In order to repair or replace the PV panel the external covering of the roof will need to be cut away and replaced; which is at best time consuming and at worst costly. Building owners may then decide not to repair these PV panels to reduce short term costs; however, this will reduce the energy savings the building achieves.
EliosSolar PV not only offers a simple and easy installation method, but provides a simple removal and replacement solution which is not currently available with any other thin film laminate bonded PV.
EliosSolar PV allows the building owner complete comfort that the roof integrity will never be compromised.
EliosSolar PV incorporate UNI-SOLAR® PVL laminates, which are used extensively across the world providing global government recognition and offering the building designer the comfort of specifying a renewable product that works.
The EliosSolar PV simply clicks in to place with our River-Therm® roofing system. There are no tools required. This means that if one of the panels should become damaged, it can be easily unplugged, un-clipped and replaced. Simple solutions for saving time, money and CO2.
Installing renewable systems to your building is a logical decision to both reduce energy costs whilst at the same time reduce your CO2 emissions.
With the introduction of FiT’s (Feed-in Tariffs) in April 2010, companies using renewable technologies that generate power, like PV’s and wind turbines, will be paid for every kW of electricity produced. Prior to this, payback on these types of renewable’s were often greater than the life expectancy of the system, however this is now set to change.
Using EliosSolar PV in conjunction with the River-Therm® roof system provides our clients with the ability to turn their roofs into mini power stations which will not only reduce the buildings energy costs but could even see them generating a profit. EliosSolar PV is designed to be installed at any stage of the building’s life meaning it’s the ideal solution for both the new build and retro-fit market.
- EliosSolar PV, can be installed at any stage of the building’s life
- The system can be added to or panels can be replaced at anytime, with little effort
- The River-Therm® secret fix roofing solution and the Twin-Therm® built up system are fully walkable. This advantage is not diminished by the inclusion of an EliosSolar PV panel, both systems remain fully walkable
- EliosSolar PV panels are available in three power ratings, 68Wp, 136Wp and 144Wp
- Glass-free (virtually unbreakable)
- Low maintenance
- Proven performance
- Generates energy even in low light or when partially shaded
- No roof penetrations
- Lightweight; no need for structural reinforcements
- Installed in the same plane as the roof slope, no need for expensive additional support frameworks
- The EliosSolar PV unique design protects the edges of the PV laminate ensuring a firm connection for the duration of its service life
- The EliosSolar PV system integrates space for the passage of air, keeping efficiencies constant
HyperionSolar PV utilises a Uni-Solar PVL laminate which is used extensively across the world providing global recognition and offering the building designer the comfort of specifying a renewable solution that is tried and tested.
