Apprentices Take Home the Prize at Local Business Awards
CA Group Limited, last night took home the title of Best Business Trading Outside of Teesdale, in this year’s Teesdale Business Awards, at a ceremony attended by the company’s trainees and apprentices. This award, sponsored by Epic Consultancy and Training Limited, recognises businesses with a clear growth strategy in markets outside of Teesdale.
CA Group currently supports 13 trainee positions ranging from business administration and sheet metal work to mechanical and electrical engineering and technical drawing. As part of the companies continuous training and mentoring programmes, this group were invited to represent the company at these awards to gain experience outside of their usual roles.
Lee Wilson-Smith, Sheet Metal Work Apprentice, commented: “We had such a brilliant night and were all very excited to be representing the business, winning the award was the icing on the cake!”
The awards, organised by Enterprise House and Radio Teesdale, celebrate achievements in all aspects of business development as well as success in the world of commerce and social enterprise within the Teesdale area.
Henry Agnew, a member of the company’s board of trustees, commented: “As an Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) we believe strongly in the investment and the development of our apprentices and trainees, they are extremely hard working and we wanted to show them how grateful we are for their dedication and commitment. They really did us proud.”
