More than MEATing expectations

When Yorkshire Premier Meats made the decision to refurbish their offices in South Kirkby, Pontefract, it was made clear from the beginning of the project that limited disruption to their everyday activities was paramount.
CA Refurbishment Projects were chosen to manage the project because of their proven ability to work closely with their clients to avoid any unnecessary disruptions.
The project commenced in December 2008 and with the internal scaffolding erected in the main reception area at the weekend in order to minimise disruption. The refurbishment involved the removal of an architectural dome and installation of a 520m2 flat to pitch roof system over the offices and amenity areas.
Before the refurbishment could begin there were a number of logistical issues that CA Refurbishment Projects needed to address. Ian Cotterill Divisional Manager of CA Refurbishment Projects explains:
“In order for the architectural dome to be removed safely and to ensure that the building remained watertight we had to install timber joists to which the suspended ceiling could be re-secured to. Plywood was then fixed to these joists and a single ply roof covering was applied to form the watertight area”
The whole project saw CA Refurbishment Projects install CA Groups own CA 32 1000 profile using Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® in Goosewing Grey from Corus on the roof.
The complete refurbishment project including the flat to pitch roof conversion system took nine weeks to complete and was installed and sheeted all while the client’s activities continued undisturbed below.
CA Refurbishment Projects also installed 48m2 of the CA 32 1000 profile using Corus Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® in Goosewing Grey and Corus Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® in Van Dyke Brown from the classics range. CA Trimline Gutters were also integrated into the new roof design.
