CA set to make an impact at BSEC
CA Building Products is aiming to get people talking at this year’s annual BSEC event. CA’s show exhibit features sustainability and renewable technologies, and is also showcasing three of its most innovative products, SolarWall®, Plano-Therm®, Caskade® HYDRA and River-Therm®.
SolarWall® is an innovative solar air heating system that utilises solar radiation to feed naturally warmed fresh air into buildings.
With no moving parts, minimal energy running costs and minimal CO2 emissions, SolarWall® provides a truly renewable heat energy source with payback periods of as low as 3 years for new build and 7 years for refurbishment projects.

Plano-Therm®, a thermally efficient open vented rainscreen system, has been designed to be utilised with a wide range of backing wall constructions offering scope for design freedom. Allowing designers’ flexibility to create traditional or unconventional aesthetics utilising the broad palette of metals, colour and finishes, Plano-Therm® gives a high quality architectural finish within a realistic budget. The Plano-Therm® modules are simple and efficient to install and can be fixed either horizontally or vertically, as well as directly mounted to a masonry wall, structural composite panels and stud wall constructions.
Caskade® HYDRA is an ‘evolved siphonic’ rainwater management system, which has been designed due to a demand to improve conventional siphonic systems. The Caskade® HYDRA system virtually eliminates the need for intrusive internal rainwater discharge pipework. The body of the gutter contains two sealed siphonic water channels, a primary and secondary, keeping rainwater discharge where it belongs – completely outside of the building envelope.

The Caskade® HYDRA system is fully operational once the gutter has been installed, eliminating the need for temporary drainage management and moreover, there is no surface water to create slip hazards to operatives.
River-Therm® is a secret-fix roofing solution that offers complete walkability with a unique integrated drainage channel, which has seen it specified on worldwide large-scale projects for over twenty years. It has been tested in accordance with Health & Safety Executive ‘Advisory Committee For Roofwork Best Practice Guide ACR[CP]001:2003′, and categorised as a “Class B’ assembly in accordance with ACR[M]001:2005 ‘Test For Non-Fragility of Profiled Sheeted Roofing Assemblies [third edition]‘ and supported with a BBA Agrément certificate 07/4428, Detail Sheet 3 for the entire system.
Brain Watson, CA Group commercial director, comments, “CA Group will be talking about a number of key industry issues which we believe are vital considerations for anyone involved in the building process. Environmental issues will obviously be high on the agenda at BSEC this year and CA has cemented its role as a key player through our continued investment into sustainable and renewable technologies.”
