CA brings Beijing Olympic success to Ecobuild 2009
CA Building Products, will be exhibiting its award-winning SolarWall® perforated Transpired Solar Collector (pTSC) at Ecobuild 2009. Used successfully in the Beijing Olympic Village, SolarWall® is an innovative solar air heating system that utilises solar radiation to feed naturally warmed fresh air into buildings. With no moving parts, minimal energy running costs and minimal CO2 emissions, SolarWall® provides a truly renewable heat energy source with payback periods of as low as 3 years for new build and 7 years for refurbishment projects.
CA’s SolarWall® has been specified on several large builds and has been confirmed as “Merton Rule” compliant in a full report by architects Battle McCarthy and BSRIA, who concluded that the system can provide up to 20% of a building’s total energy requirement.
CA will also be exhibiting the Caskade® HYDRA ‘evolved siphonics’ rainwater management system. The system is capable of comfortably accommodating severe and storm force rainfall intensities, virtually eliminating the need for complex internal pipework and bracketry. The Caskade® HYDRA system is installed completely outside the roofline of the building as an integral part of the main structural gutter system.
