CA’s rounded approach to a building envelope.

Sustainability was the major focus of the new ProLogis 360 development in Crewe, where CA Building Products supplied their Twin-Therm® built-up roof and wall cladding system.

The new 359, 800 Sq Ft warehouse features the Twin-Therm® system using Corus Colorcoat HPS200® Ultra in Goosewing Grey for the roof and Corus Colorcoat Prisma® in Oyster and Alaska Grey for the walls.

The installation of the Twin-Therm® system was carried out by CA Group’s principal installation division CA Roofing Services, bringing to the project a wealth of experience and knowledge.

ProLogis were adamant that the building envelope be constructed utilising sustainable building materials, therefore, by installing the Twin-Therm® system the building envelope was supplied as CarbonNeutral with a Confidex Sustain® Guarantee from Corus.

The Confidex Sustain® Guarantee ensures that all unavoidable carbon emissions created throughout the entire life of the Twin-Therm® roof and wall cladding system, cradle to cradle, are offset by investing in environmental projects worldwide providing a CarbonNeutral building envelope solution.

An added advantage of using the Twin-Therm® system is that it has been proven to deliver airtightness levels of as low as 1.06m3/hr/m2 @ 50 Pa. Low levels of air tightness are vital when seeking a high asset rating. The Twin-Therm® building envelope installed at Crewe contributed toward the building achieving an A Rated Energy Performance Certificate.

Twin-Therm® system was also supplied using the ‘sequential sheeting’ packing system, which presents all liner panels and external profiled sheets packed in the order in which they will be installed onto the roof, considerably reducing build times.
